Exercise has a lot of advantages. People of all ages and from all over the world are urged to take breaks from their hectic schedules to exercise. It's common to want to lead a sedentary lifestyle during the winter by curling up under the covers, consuming comfort food, and refusing to move. However, it might have the opposite effect on your health. Therefore, it becomes important to force yourself to exercise for at least 20 to 30 minutes every day, even when you feel lazy.

Celebrity fitness instructor and Pilates specialist Yasmin Karachiwala shed light on the advantages of regular exercise and outlined five main points that might convince you to switch from binge-watching your favorite show's episodes to working out at the gym.

  • Increasing your muscle strength may be facilitated by exercise: The expert claims that resistance exercise, such as weightlifting, can improve muscle endurance and strength. She clarified that it not only enhances physical performance but also supports daily activities.

  • Reduction of stress: Exercise causes the body's natural mood enhancers, endorphins, to be released. Karachiwala continued, "Regular exercise is linked to reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress."

  • Weight management: Regular exercise aids in weight management by burning calories and promoting muscle growth. "Combining regular workouts with a balanced diet is effective for weight loss or maintenance," the trainer stated.

  • Improve flexibility: Stretching activities such as yoga can improve flexibility, which lowers the chance of injury and promotes greater mobility all around. This is according to Karachiwala.

  • Boost the immune system: "Moderate exercise lowers the risk of illness by supporting a healthy immune system. To prevent overtraining, which could momentarily suppress the immune system, it is crucial to balance intensity, the expert cautioned.
